Three Workshops and Two Tours!

Drop-Off Center Operation & Non-Traditional Recycling

Zach Johnson, Recycling Coordinator at the Knox County Engineering and Public Works Department, Division of Solid Waste Management will be discussing the operation of Knox County’s seven convenience centers and the positive aspects of some of Knox County's non-traditional recycling programs. These include but are not limited to carpet, cooking oil, and fluorescent tube recycling programs.


Post Industrial Recycling

Jack Horner, Marketing Director at Miller Recycling, will present an over view of working with industries to determine products they can recycle and divert from their waste streams to include: 1) Promoting recycling to industries, 2) Introduction of recycling to an industry, 3) Waste studies for industries, 4) Cost reductions and revenues from recycling, 5) Community benefits of industrial recycling and 6) Tour of Miller Recycling, LLC


Commercial Recycling

Clark Lindsey, President of Tennessee American Recycling, LLC will present information on commercial recycling followed by a tour of the Lowland Plant.
