Transportation:  Buses will be provided for tour segments


Light lunch will be provided: Sandwich, Chips & drink


Discussion following tours:  Robin Wooten, TSP E TN Area Manager, Park Staff along with TN Recycling Coalition Board members will lead discussion following tours: Park Successes, TSP Green Initiative, Recycling Obstacles and/or Challenges.

  

TOURS

KNOX COUNTY’S DROP-OFF CENTER OPERATION

Zach Johnson, Recycling Coordinator at the Knox County Engineering and Public Works Department, Division of Solid Waste Management and Tom Salter, Knox County Solid Waste Director will be discussing the operation of Knox County’s seven convenience centers and the positive aspects of some of Knox County's recycling programs.  A tour of the New Karns Convenience Center located at 6930 Karns Cross Lane, Knoxville is planned.


UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE RECYCLING

How does a major University with more than 25,000 students and 9,000 staff members coordinate recycling efforts on a day to day basis all over campus? What efforts and resources are needed to be a leader in recycling during a NCAA football game day at Neyland Stadium (100,000+ capacity) for seven home games a year? Jay Price, Recycling Manager University of Tennessee - Knoxville, will discuss efforts to reduce and recycle campus wide. Mr. Price’s presentation will include a tour of the University’s composting facility which is used to meet game day and campus waste reduction goals.
