Workshop Description:

This America Recycles Day, think local and act regional! Join the Tennessee Recycling Coalition on November 15th with local representatives including Joe Nunes, City of Germantown & Shelby County Solid Waste Planning Board Chair; Joyce Williams (and team), City of Memphis, and Jenna Thompson Memphis/Shelby County Office of Sustainability; as they discuss program investments and communication – with a focus on how social media and on-the-street tactics have impacted recycling program participation and contamination, cooperative opportunities within a regional solid waste planning structure, and partnerships and crossover opportunities with other professional associations to help Tennessee strengthen recycling. 


Also join us for a tour of operations at our host facility American Snuff Co.  You will hear about their manufacturing zero waste goals, and get a site tour to see their recycling and recovery programs in action.
